New Featurettes for 'Whiteout' with Kate Beckinsale
Monday, August 31, 2009 at 7:11PM
The upcoming Kate Beckinsale flick, Whiteout, was not made in Antarctica, but to the credit of the production crew and director Dominic Sena (and there's the first time I've ever written that), it sure does look like the real deal. In fact, it was shot primarily in Quebec, which I guess is a good substitute, particularly the further north you go.

Why Antarctica? Because Whiteout covers the mystery surrounding the first murder ever committed on the giant block of ice, which is a great idea - for both the original comic book and the movie - but executing it is a different matter. Just ask the filmmakers of 30 Days of Night.
Here are two new featurettes for Whiteout, and they're a little bit longer than we're used to seeing. You'll get lots of behind-the-scenes footage and glimpse of how grueling a shoot this must have been. Kudos to Movie Web for the videos.
After a couple lengthy delays, Whiteout will finally be in theaters on September 15th.
