Sunday, August 9, 2009 at 7:30PM This Just In: People Don't Like Katherine Heigl
If you follow this stuff even sporadically, you probably already know that a lot of people think Katherine Heigl is a bitch. It's not just one thing that the Emmy winner's detractors will point to, either. But she caused some internal strife for her Grey's Anatomy cast and crew when she appeared last month on Letterman, and now the fallout has gone straight to the top of the network.

Heigl made headlines a couple summers ago calling Knocked Up misogynistic. By the way, she was in that movie. Helped pave the way for the rest of her romantic comedies. And according to both Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow, she never so much as called them to apologize or at least offer an excuse. OK then. Around this time last year, she commented that her own writers on Grey's Anatomy didn't deserve their Emmy nominations because the show wasn't up to its usual standards that year. Classy.
Then during publicity for The Ugly Truth, Heigl lamented actually having to work on her hit ABC show, telling Letterman, "Our first day back was Wednesday and it was — I’m going to keep saying this because I hope it embarrasses them — a 17-hour day, which I think is cruel and mean."
According to some sources at the network, the only reason that day was so long was because Heigl had other business to attend to, like pimping her new movie across the country on talk shows. Otherwise, it could have operated on a more normal schedule. Instead, the producers reportedly had to pay penalties for keeping union workers on the job so long...all because Izzie had somewhere else in a couple of days.
And now, ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson is chiming in, telling The Hollywood Reporter that the actress' comments are "unfortunate."

"People are going to behave in the way they choose to behave. There are so many people who work so hard on Grey's, and all of our shows, without any notoriety, and those are the ones I'd be concerned about, people who feel like they're being criticized or looked down upon."Some people just aren't served very well when they open their mouths and words come out.

It's most unfortunate that an actor who is, at the moment, blessed with so many opportunities would say such negative things about the people and projects that helped her get to where she is now. Granted, she's putting in the long hours. But isn't she also well compensated for her overtime? She needs to deal with her issues and maybe needs to work less if that's the case. I used to like her as a child star and have followed her career on and off over the years. I'm saddened that her success in her profession did not equal her growth in personality and judgement.
She reminds me of another starlet, well, maybe that's a bit cruel to say... Megan, her first name was... both love and still like to do movies with people they seem to 'hate' and both still love to portray characters without substance, which makes me wonder, are they related?
Both are bitches, seem to lack any intelligence or ethics for that matter. There are so many beautiful and talented actresses on Hollywood, these two should think seriously how they deal with their co-stars and the people that gave them the money to keep them eating what they like, or the clothes they want to wear.
She unlike Megan Fox actually has talent in my opinion...
I dunno Katherine's making some stupid mistakes and I guess you can attribute it to her being young and a bit loud mouthed or that kinda girl who always thinks she's right...I know a few personally...
But what can you do..
Advice... DONT BAD MOUTH YOUR MOVIES/SHOWS IN PUBLIC
----do it in on your cell phone or in your apartment not for the world to hear...
I MEAN COME ONNN...
I just wish poor Katherine Heigl could find someone to love. I think we all identify with her plight. When, oh when will someone look through her rough exterior to the inner beauty within?
Either way, who cares? There are those of us who still remember her from Under Siege 2: Dark Territory all those years ago. What, did Steven Seagal do something to your brain, you frickin ingrate! If things are offensive and mysoginistic, why did you ever bother to do them in the first place?
I hate this chick. Id like to break my foot off in her vadge.
okaay . everyone saids stuff they dont mean . its a common human nauture to do that . katherine heigl has alot of stress on her hands , she just got done with al the interveiws for The Ugly Truth and now is filliimg the new greys anatomy season . (btw i cant wate) . katherine heigl in my own oppion is the best actress out there . (dissagree if u must) dont be mean if u dont even know her maybe she has real reasons on why she is saying stuff we jsut might not know it . so leave her alone
I have disliked Katherine Heigl more and more with each passing GA show, from the beginning. She bugs me. And appearance on other tv shows bug me. At first it baffled me, but now i think i know why. She seems to have a superiority complex, and to me, that just comes across on screen. She does not seem to show any control over her mouth. How blessed is she in her career? How many people would just love to work 17 hours - to be in her shoes? I worked in media for years and you always end up putting in long hours - that's the job - you work while the sets and crew are set and ready, and around schedules, etc. I used to edit for 21 hours in a row to meet a deadline. So, her complaints are not even very relevant - she has chosen a career known for goofy and long hours. She should know that. Suck it up, Hiegl.
I plan to never see any of her movies - unless maybe there is a free one on TV. I often avoid Grey's - because of KH. How frustrating it is for those of us who have worked only on the fringes of 'The Biz', to watch someone so blessed - piss on it. She is so free with her mouth, biting the hand that feeds, therefore, i have no qualms about telling her to her face how annoying she is being. Well, maybe she will grow up if enough people give the "childish comments" - right back to her. She probably will not figure it out on her own - people have to tell her - "You are being very annoying". Yup.
