Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 8:30AM Another Baadasssss Trailer for 'Black Dynamite'
We've got another trailer from Black Dynamite, which I think makes the third or fourth one since the film hit Sundance back in January. Hopefully, you've seen some of this stuff before, but if not, this is as authentic a blaxploitation spoof that we've ever seen.

There have been a few of these before - and you're probably thinking of I'm Gonna Git You Sucka - but I don't think any of the satires in the last 35 years or so have so perfectly emulated the look of the 1970s. Honestly, if this is your first exposure, you'd be suspicious that it's actually an old trailer that's just been re-edited.
Michael Jai White plays the man in the $5,000 car and the $100 suits and yep, that is Aresnio in there, too.

Black Dynamite was picked up by Apparition, which isn't technically a Sony off-shoot, but they're dating exclusively. And that company has been pretty aggressive in its 2009 acquisitions, with five movies all slated between October and January. This one kicks yo ass on October 16th.

I love the fact that (at the very end) it's rated "ahrah"
Wow! Blaxploitation spoof is right! This movie looks hysterical. I'm glad that it was filmed to imitate the 70's films we've all seen before, and, the hair, costume design, funky riffs, and "righteous" characters all come together very effectively to achieve this imitation. I'll definitely be seeing this film. Thanks for the post
I can't stop laughing at the part where he's falling from the helicopter.
Hahahahaha, I laughed my ass off! I love the 70's spoof type (in this movie, not in general).
"I am smiling..."
"Rated AHRA!"
Haha.
