Earlier this week, Disney and Marvel Entertainment announced one of the biggest media acquisitions in quite a while, and it was wholly unexpected. Of course, now that it's been completed, it seems like a great move for Disney, maybe not quite as much for Marvel outside of just having access to the unlimited resources Mickey Mouse provides.

Stan Lee, the person most commonly associated with Marvel Comics and the creator of Spider-Man, The X-Men, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and more, has released an official statement about the merger. Would you believe he's completely over the moon about it?
"I couldn't be happier with this agreement," said Lee. "It's [a] great move for Disney, for Marvel
and for my company Pow! Entertainment since Pow! has a first-look deal with Disney." Added Stan the Man, "From every point of view, the merger of Disney and Marvel is a match made in heaven."
But wait, there's more:

"Just imagine, with this deal Marvel gives Disney a library of literally hundreds of unique and colorful characters that have the potential to make great, high-concept movies and long-lasting franchises—and nobody knows how to play in that ball park better than Disney."So Mr. Comic Book likes it, and if Disney doesn't monkey with what it just bought and has every right to monkey with, this should be a fantastic deal. But how long can that possibly last?

"From every point of view, the merger of (money) and (my wallet) is a match made in heaven."
"Just imagine, with this deal Marvel gives Disney a library of literally hundreds of unique and colorful characters (to ruin with singing, G-ratings and to sue fans over)..."
We would have had an Incredibles 2 if Disney hadn't bought Pixar, nuff said.
Well said.
Both these companies obviously have a monetary incentive, however I hadn't worried that the quality of Marvel films would decrease after watching this video- it brought up some interesting points I hadn't considered.
