Soundtrack Announced for 'Twilight: New Moon'

This is either a great sign for The Twilight Saga: New Moon or a bad sign for Thom Yorke, and I'll let you judge that for yourself. The Radiohead frontman is one of 14 artists (plus composer Alexandre Desplat) featured on the New Moon soundtrack, which will be released on October 20th. The Twilight soundtrack was a big hit, at least in the contemporary album charts framework that must account for about one-third of the business CDs generated only about five or six years ago. In fact, as we outlined this summer, as big a hit as Twilight was, the last soundtrack to sell five million copies was O Brother Where Art Thou?, which was released in 2000. But for something like this, which should do close to $200 million in US ticket sales and will also benefit from massive merchandise sales, a loaded soundtrack makes a ton of sense for the movie and the artists involved, some of whom might not otherwise get this kind of exposure without working really, really hard.
