New Teaser Poster for 'The Crazies' Remake

From the department of Everything Old is New Again, the remake of the George A. Romero horror classic, The Crazies, will be released in early 2010. It's directed by Breck Eisner (Sahara) and stars Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Danielle Panabaker, and Joe Anderson. I personally think both Olyphant and Mitchell are consistently underrated, particularly for this kind of thing, so that's probably good casting.

With all the tainted food we've seen over the past couple of years and the now-serious spread of a swine flu we thought was much ado about nothing, a movie chronicling the inhabitants of a small town who are stricken with rabid insanity or worse when their water supply is poisoned seems to have quite a bit of relevance. Like Outbreak without Dustin Hoffman. And, you know, scarier.

Overture Films has sent over a new poster for The Crazies, and what do you know - here it is:

I'll agree about Timothy Olyphant being underrated... remember Hitman? He actually made that movie worth watching. That and whoever the hot chick was (too lazy to IMDB right now).

Oh, that was Olga Kurylenko from Quantum of Solace. She was my pick for Black Widow in Iron Man 2, but they went with the short, breathy, American girl who hasn't been redeemable in a single movie in three years.
