Monday, September 28, 2009 at 2:18AM Rotten Tomatoes' Worst Movies of the Decade
It's a little early for an end-of-the-decade list, but Rotten Tomatoes has unveiled the 100 worst movies of the past ten years. As you might expect, it's quite a doozy. I'll spare you the 90 "best" movies on the list and jump ahead to the worst reviewed films of the decade, ranked in order beginning with the most offensive:

Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever (2002)
One Missed Call (2008)
Pinocchio (2002)
King's Ransom (2005)
National Lampoon's Gold Diggers (2004)
Suberbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 (2004)
Strange Wilderness (2008)
3 Strikes (2000)
Redline (2007)
Witless Protection (2008)
Strangely, I have only seen Ballistic and One Missed Call, and you'd think the further up that list you went, the odds against seeing the movies would increase. I remember having to pay to see Ballistic, but One Missed Call actually screened for the press. I'm not sure any of the others ever did, at lest not where I was.
My own list would look quite a bit different, allowing for Disaster Movie and Swept Away at the top, or at the bottom, as it were. Was Freddy Got Fingered this decade? Man, I've been at this a while, and all these bad movies running through my mind...I need to sit down.
What's the worst movie you've seen since Y2K? And how many of the Rotten Tomatoes list did you endure?

One Missed Call (2008)
Pinocchio (2002)
King's Ransom (2005)
National Lampoon's Gold Diggers (2004)
Suberbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 (2004)
Strange Wilderness (2008)
3 Strikes (2000)
Redline (2007)
Witless Protection (2008)

I saw ecks vs. sever, i can thing of some way worse movies. that one at least somewhat entertained me. but one missed call is definitely deserving of being on that list. for sure!
Wow. Amazingly, I've only seen two from the whole list - Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and Because I Said So. No argument on either's inclusion from me...
I also have only seen 2 out of the 100. 88 Minutes, which I rented...and Battlefield Earth which was on Starz one lazy Saturday afternoon.
Btw, Freddy Got Fingered was 2001....and I'm surprised it's not on there.
I've seen 49 of the 100. Thank me later.
Thankfully I avoided most of those... it's surprising how much crap has been put out by the studios over the past 10 years...
In the Name of the King: A dungeon siege tale. Nothing good about it. At all.
Alexander was pretty bad.
Unfortunately I have seen a few of the 100 worst on that list. But to my credit, I have steered clear of anything that has had the following "actors" involved:
Dane Cook (as leading man)
Larry The cable Guy
Steve Martin
Anything that involves the "Wayons" family
Any "spoof" or "parody" of movies
That being said- I have still seen a few of the turds on that list and was surprised (not in a good way) that so many actors would sign up for a bad movie/script.
Some folks might argue that Steve Martin still makes good movies- I say bullshit! His ship sailed at least a decade ago and he is just trying to make a buck now...
