Charlize Theron the Latest Linked to Catwoman

OK, first things first: As with all other casting discussions surrounding a third Batman movie, there's nothing to this. There's no script. There's no decision on who the villains would be. There's no concrete timetable. There's no movie yet. But there are plenty of rumors, and here's the latest: Charlize Theron as Catwoman.

To be sure, there's a big upside to Theron in the role. She's sexy, she can act, she can do action, she's tall - which, believe it or not, I think would be an issue (but maybe not) - and she'd be a nice name to attach to the project. And, not surprisingly, Charlize agrees. Wow, that rhymed.

"It's news to me, but that's kick-ass news," Theron is reported as saying. "I like that...I think that what has happened to that franchise is amazing, and director Chris Nolan is a genius. So I would be an idiot to not consider that."

And that's about as far as it goes because, again, there's no movie. I'd keep her in the candidate pool, though, in case we learn it will be Catwoman about a year from now. Some of our readers have astutely pointed out that Nolan prefers to work with a lot of the same actors, so someone like Marion Cotillard from Inception might be the way he's leaning, and that's a great pick, too. Angelina Jolie is probably the most logical choice, which might be exactly why she wouldn't get it.

Of course, since we don't have any idea if Catwoman will even be in the next movie - and I'm on record as being against Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler in favor of a villain that matches the Gotham Nolan has created, like Black Mask - this is all just empty talk. So file it away for later. Charlize is a better choice than Megan Fox, though, you have to admit.

If they went with Catwoman as a villian (or emerging character, like they kinda did with Two-Face), she'd have my vote.

I really dont find Charlize Theoron all that sexy. And the real villian i would love to see is Harley Quinn, and not because of the joker, i dont really care about that. I just always like Harley Quinn

WOW what are you screwed up in the head???

Charlize Theron is the sexiest actress alive in my opinion,
-She has a gorgeous figure
-She's fucken smart and educated unlike (hint: Megan Fox, uhh no!)
-She's an amazing actress and chooses amazing roles (ie Monster, North Country)
-She's so fun! has a great fun loving attracting personality

I must say I'am surprised she remarked on it, I could totally see her in the role as well, she'd do amazing...

However I doubt it, for a number of reasons, its not her arena this type of film, as well as she doesnt have a huge following, yes her name is big and her skills are superb, but does she have the massful popularity to the world for the big headlining ... not too sure

Catwoman in my opinion is a horrible choice for the next villain as well I mean screw that...

GOD DAMNIT GO WITH THE PENGUIN
-AND GO WITH PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN!!!
-thats my number 1 choice

Although i did LOVE Colin's choice of Guy Pearce as Black Mask
-but same issue applies as Charlize, with the fame and name ....

No Penguin...ugh. There are a host of wonderful villains they can draw from, and I hope they did The Joker as the tip of the cap to convention and for everything else will explore some of the other great villains.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be Robin, I would think, given Nolan's recycled ensembles. He's in Inception, and he has a dark quality like Bale. But let's hope it never gets to that point.
