Rather than discuss each of these individually, I decided to cast a wide net of disdain over a
few films in various stages of development.

We'll begin with Marmaduke, an adaptation of the popular(?) Sunday funnies fixture featuring the world's most
undisciplined dog. Coming Soon says that, like Alvin y las Chipmunks, the film will be a live-action/CGI
hybrid. Today we learned that about the rather large voice cast for the film: Amanda Seyfried, Jeremy Piven, Ron
Perlman, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Fergie, Steve Coogan, George Lopez, and Damon Wayans Jr. Judy Greer and Lee Pace
are apparently playing the Duke's human owners and everyone else will voice neighborhood animals. Bleh.
Although it has a script by Rod Lurie and stars Richard Gere and Annette Bening, the words "directed by Garry Marshall" are reason enough to keep me away from just about anything. Production Weekly Tweeted the confirmation about the new film yesterday. It's a remake of Frank Capra's State of the Union, which starred Hepburn and Tracy and was based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Again, lots of good on the surface...but Garry Marshall. Pick a winner: Georgia Rule, two Princess Diaries movies, Raising Helen, Runaway Bride, The Other Sister, Dear God, Exit to Eden, and Frankie and Johnny. That's his output after Pretty Woman.
And finally, the next Miley Cyrus movie has been delayed from January to April of next year, according to Ace Showbiz. This one, called The Last Song, features the unmatched sacharine potential of Cyrus and author Nicholas Sparks, who reportedly wrote the novel with this film and casting in mind. Sounds terrific, doesn't it? I can't wait for someone to die at the end.

I like Lee "the pie maker" Pace and Judy "kitty" Greer (as well as many of the voice-actors) but the film cannot possibly be any good...
Technically wouldn't it be los chipmunks? Also dear god, whenever they do release that Smiley Virus movie the apocalypse WILL happen.
Good positioning for "The Last Song"; it's likely that it'll have the same weekend that "Hannah Montana" had this year, and look how well that worked out. Not saying that it'll be the smash hit of the century, but Miley Cyrus in anything just prints money as of late.
Colin, is that seriously, honestly, truly a Marmaduke comic strip as of recent? It honestly looks like a parody of a Marmaduke comic. If that's what Marmaduke has become as of late, a parody of itself...wow.
No, I embellished the cartoon. As for the Spanish translation, I checked it, but that doesn't mean where I checked it was reliable.
But another point: Do you like this idea as a feature?
And still another point: Who else loves Judy Greer?
The first Princess Diary movie was good, but that doesn't make your point any less valid.
