Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 6:37PM Trailer - Football Bio-Pic 'The Blind Side'
Because you won't find it anywhere in this trailer, the actor playing NFL rookie
Michael Oher is 6'10" Quinton Aaron. He's had a few minor roles before, but
you'd think he'd at least get an "And introducing..." credit in the trailer. No dice.

So why are we treated to The Blind Side, a movie about an offensive
lineman in his first year in the NFL? Well, Michael Oher hasn't had a background like most of us. His
father wasn't around, his mother was a crackhead, he attended 11 schools in nine years, and he had no fixed
address until he was 16. You could say he was headed nowhere.
And then, he applied for admission to a private Christian school at the behest of a friend he was staying
with. Obviously because of his size, the school's football coach wanted him on the team, but because he had
basically no education, grades were an issue. Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy (Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw) allowed
Oher to live with their family while he worked through his limitations with schoolwork and his massive
personal issues. I guess it worked; he signed a $13 million contract this spring.
Blind Side, which is based on Michael Lewis' book Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, will be in
theaters November 20th.

Wonderful, heartwarming movie! Reminds me of Precious. Warning: have lots of Kleenex on hand when you watch either movie!!
I read parts of this book (the ones about Oher, not all the technical football stuff) and absolutely loved it. I really hope that this movie stays true to the original story, because this is one true story that needs no Hollywood embellishments to bring tears to even the most uptight person.
I've been waiting for this movie for awhile, but only just now saw the trailer and even that is getting me excited. I also thought it was cool that they used a snippet of the song "Kill the Messenger" by Jack's Mannequin in the trailer, because the singer also has an inspirational personal story as a cancer survivor...hope to hear more Jack's Mannequin music in the movie.
