Friday, September 4, 2009 at 9:38PM Another Great Poster for 'Where the Wild Things Are'
The estimated budget for Where the Wild Things Are is $80 million. I wonder how much of that includes that widespread re-shoots that led to rumors stating, essentially, the film was more or less remade from the ground up.

I find it hard to believe that Spike Jonze would have missed the mark that wildly, given that he's probably the best director for a live-action adaptation of this project, but Warner Bros. was apparently not happy with the first cut. We'll continue to hope for the best and that somehow Spike has managed to not only keep the essence of Maurice Sendak's classic book, but also synthesized some broad appeal to those things he had to add. After all, the book is only about as long as a menu.
The trailers and everything look tremendous, so that sense of innocent, childlike wonder seems like it's in place. Now if we can just fit that around the rest of the film. We'll find out how he did next month. I like Jonze, though, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, even with the re-shoots.
Enjoy the latest poster, another in a line of really good ones for this movie:
