Friday, September 4, 2009 at 4:51AM Week in Review - Disney Buys Marvel, 'Boondock,' Scream Awards and More
One of the biggest stories in several years took center stage this week, with Disney coming out of left field to buy Marvel Entertainment. We won't see the full impact of the move for some time, because Marvel has three years of contracts with other studios to get through first. But the question is valid: Why not Paramount? How'd they let Marvel just get away from them?

Not to be outdone, Fox announced that its current deal with Marvel will see one more attempt at a Fantastic Four movie, and now there's talk that Paramount might put Iron Man 2 in 3-D next summer. So, while the other studios took Marvel's business for granted, they're not taking it lying down. At least not after the fact.
Here are this week's big headlines:
Mickey Mouse has an amazing comic book collection
Summer 2009 was the biggest summer ever
Another less-than-fantastic Four is on the way
Sean Connery's accent named the worst in movie history
Nominees for the 2009 Scream Awards
Director confirms Anchorman sequel in a couple of years
Stan Lee loves the Disney-Marvel deal
Stop it, already: Iron Man 2 in 3-D?
First Red Band trailer for Boondock Saints II
This is why the rest of the world hates us: Big Momma's House 3

Is it week in review time again already? Time flies when you're having fun I guess. Keep up the excellent work and have a great weekend, Mr. Boyd.
It would be interesting on what Disney would do with this. Will Disney turn into the Genie singing Friend like me to Marvel or turn into Ursula singing Poor Unforuntate Soul. And that remains to be seen.
