Here's a little more silliness from Roland Emmerich's 2012. As you probably know, the master of disaster has set his sights on the Mayan calendar nonsense that says the world is going to end in a few years. I'll give him credit for this much: That's a great premise for a Roland Emmerich movie, and I guess the only reason we didn't see it yet is because people were waiting to get closer to the year in question.

In the film, John Cusack leads the potential survivors through an endless maze of mini-catastrophes trying to somehow escape the end days. Some of this stuff is pretty evident in the trailers, although the action is flying around at a pretty quick pace and it's hard to know what's what.
MTV has a new clip of one isolated brush with death, involving a daring escape from a runaway (flyaway?) cargo plane. So pile in the Bentley and watch Lloyd Dobler save the day...this time.
As with most Emmerich flicks, I don't expect a whole lot of nuance. But if you want to see stuff get blowed up, 2012 looks like your ticket this fall. It opens on November 13th.

It'll be worth the price of a ticket, I believe.
