Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 3:02PM Latest Mel Gibson Movie Draws Protests in Mexico
Mel Gibson has made headlines again for something other than his filmmaking. Well, sort of. His upcoming How I Spent My Summer Vacation has drawn protests from families of inmates at Ignacio Allende prison in the Mexican state of Veracruz, where the film will shoot this spring.

Writes Variety on the situation, "Veracruz Governor Fidel Herrera indicated that inmates would be transferred to an undisclosed location for the duration of the shoot. In Mexico, inmates' families are their only source of food and clean clothing, and a move would require many families to
relocate to the new location as well."
The families' outrage peaked over the holidays, when it was believed the prisoners were being moved well before they were initially supposed to be relocated. Demonstrators outside the prison fashioned signs reading, "Don't take them away, they aren't animals" and "Mel Gibson, it's your fault they are moving our family members."
This isn't the first time Gibson has made news in Veracruz; when he filmed Apocalypto there, Gibson contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to aid in hurricane relief efforts. I would not be surprised if he stepped up in this instance to make the relocation of the prisoners easier on the families and the authorities.
Interestingly, even though Gibson wrote the screenplay for Summer Vacation, about a convict in a Mexican prison who meets a nine-year-old boy while in confinement, it will be directed by Adrian Grunberg. Who? Well, this is his debut as a director, but he was the assistant director on Edge of Darkness, the Mel vehicle due in theaters later this month. Oh, and he served the same function on Apocalypto, so he knows the area, his star, and his screenwriter. Pretty good way to start.

and studied the 'ENDGAME' documentary on Google video
(--ESP the second half) and is NOW ready to break ranks
with RED China-globalist EU-genocide 'friendly' figures
like Clint 'MILLION DOLLAR BABY' Eastwood ---and, of
