Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 2:12PM Poll: Who Should Be the Next Spider-Man?
The upcoming Sony reboot of Spider-Man, a franchise that needs no such thing but couldn't get over itself and the
personalities involved in the trilogy, will almost certainly mean a new Peter Parker. Tobey Maguire wasn't in love with coming back for the fourth
movie once upon a time, and in summer 2012, when the new film is scheduled to be released, Maguire will be turning 37. That's too old to play Peter Parker at the
beginning of his story.

Because Marc Webb, the director of (500) Days of Summer is handling the reboot, the first name that came to my mind to replace Maguire was
that film's star, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He'll be 31 when the new Spidey is released, meaning he could only have three films in the role if producers
go that route, but I also think he's a little old, given the studio's likely demands to build the series around a young star.
For his part, Gordon-Levitt recently said, "I've had some really cool conversations about what [Webb] wants to do with it, and I think it's going to
be a really good movie," so it sounds like he's not disinterested in the idea. But who else is out there that could make a good Peter Parker, or
perhaps more correctly, who else is out there that Sony might want to cast in the role to really give it a fresh start?
We've come up with a list of a bunch of actors under 30, which just seems like a natural cut-off, and we've included Tobey Maguire just in case he's
your pick. And if you have someone in mind that isn't on our list, go ahead and leave that in the comments section.

Colin,
you do a fantastic job on this site, and I genuinely look forward to all the updates everyday. But Robert Pattinson or his werewolf buddy as Spidey? As if Tobey wasn't bad enough. They have a chance to make what was a potentially kick ass series into what it had the potential to be. And speaking of which, what about (if it turns out to be as good as I think/hope) Kick-Ass himself Aaron Johnson? He'll be 20 this summer and pending the movies spring release could really prove himself as someone able to play not only the meek/mild mannered type, but an action hero too.
none of the above. i say go for someone unknown. I'll do it, i suppose.
terrible. none of these choices. I'm disappointed with this. I can't think of anyone myself that age that would be a good fit, but I thought there'd be at least one on this post I'd consider.
Anton Yelchin would make a great spiderman, cause hes a good actor but he's probably too small... toby buffed up quite a bit for the role and he still managed to look nerdy.
Michael Cera? Really?
I say Patrick Fugit.
Get a new face. An Asian probably.
Apparently, Lautner has already met with Sony, but not necessarily about the role of Peter Parker. I certainly don't want it, or his 'Twilight' counterpart, but they have to be considered in the preliminary stages, I think. Maybe Aaron Johnson, yeah, again, at least in phase one.
Anybody but Tobey
