Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 11:10PM Great New 'Kick-Ass' Covers From 'Empire'
Well, this is all you need. There's a new tri-fold cover for Empire featuring three of the characters from Kick-Ass. On the front cover is Kick-Ass himself (Aaron Johnson), and inside the fold is Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz) and Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

The feature on Kick-Ass includes a little tidbit from director Matthew Vaughn about the casting of the film. "We initially met Chris Mintz-Plasse (now playing Red Mist) for Dave, because we were thinking about making Dave (Kick-Ass) a really, really geeky kid," Vaughn says. "And we thought it would be interesting if Red Mist was the much cooler guy."
The much cooler guy? Zac Efron, at least in theory.
I haven't seen any reason for this film to not be the hottest ticket in April. Lionsgate has done a fantastic job with the advance marketing push, and when it really takes flight after the Oscars sometime, I think we'll see all the stops pulled out. And why not? LGF can't live off Saw and Tyler Perry forever, and Kick-Ass looks like the beginning of a good and lucrative franchise.
The magazine arrives in stores today, and the film comes out on April 16th.
