I'm no theologian, but I wonder if there's some hidden significance to the placement of John Locke in the Jesus position on these Lost season six promotional photos riffing on Da Vinci's The Last Supper. Oh, those tricky Bad Robot writers!

Of course, if there is something behind the way the characters are aligned, then I believe that would make Sayid Judas Iscariot. Hmmm.
Why any of this at all might be relevant to Lost is that there is a school of thought that the show does borrow some religious influences, or at least Biblical ones, from time to time. Nothing new there; lots of pop culture has borrowed from the Bible. Locke carries the added bonuses of having a philosopher's name and pseudonym (Jeremy Bentham), and Jesus, no matter whatever else he was, was a philosopher. And, of course, we know Locke is "special" or "chosen" in some way, and that when he went to the island, and later returned to the island, he was made whole. Read into that whatever you will.
Of course, the beauty of Lost is that much of that subtext could mean nothing and the Last Supper motif could just be a convenient and recognizable way to take a photo of a bunch of characters, nothing more. It could even be designed to throw us off the scent, especially if the subtext proves to be ultimately hollow.
That's too much to think about, isn't it?
Anyway, Lost heads back to ABC on February 2nd. Note the peculiar move to Tuesday, which I don't like one iota.

Let's see. Lost has been on Wednesdays for two years now and has good ratings. ABC's Wednesday lineup this Fall consisted of three successful comedies followed by a failed, subsequently cancelled drama. So, naturally for it's final, extravagant season Lost is going to air...Tuesdays?!
Against the biggest show on TV plus the woeful NBC's highest rated show.
I don't get it either.
Thank God for two DVRs. At least we know it won't get cancelled.
American Idol is the perfect DVR show anyway. You can watch a whole episode in about fifteen minutes.
And, by the way, Lost is absolutely Biblically influenced. Has been all along. The only thing to be revealed is which one is the devil: Linus or Whitmore.
Lost is influence by the bible sure but not more than it is by all aspects of (popular) culture, like religions, science fiction, philosophy or whatever. It attains its uncanny feeling and oft weird tone though these kind of associations and coincidences. And I would disagree with either Linus or Widmore being the Devil... if it were to play out that way, Jacob and the "Man in Black" (the dude revealed at the end of last season) are probably playing those polar roles of 'God/Jesus and Satan.'
No i completely do think this means something...anyone who knows anything about film/characters/plots/stories/ etc would realize this....
There is some sort of significance to this. I personally dont watch Lost or much TV for that matter, but it looks like this season may be quite the year...
Once again Hollywood high executives, studio bosses, producers of the show (Abrams), & multiple others in high positions who are all mostly JEWISH take aim at Christians, Jesus, & the Bible by making this.
They run Hollywood & want you to know this & it's not right to re-create something like this for a dam TV show
You're dangerous. Perhaps only to yourself, but...wow.
didn't battlestar galactica do this same thing about a year ago?
all that is missing here is the key word "fidelio" - then the massive orgy begins.
- - and yes - BG did this same promo about a year ago. lost is lost...
