Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 6:34PM 'Lost' Seasons One - Five Explained in Eight Minutes
Yesterday, we showed you a new promotional photo for the final season of Lost that reenacts The Last Supper. Now, the new season
starts in a month, so what do you do if you haven't seen every episode or if, like me, you got disheartened around
the middle of season three but unlike me, didn't continue to watch anyway as the show got its legs back?

Well, you're in luck. Because the show is so labyrinthine, there have been recap videos on the internet for years. In
fact, ABC, fully aware of how much this show can hurt your brain, has toyed with different ways to keep you in the
loop. There are clip shows, repeats with Pop Up Video-type enhancements, and they all server their purpose.
Season five just came out on DVD and Blu-ray last month, so that's one way to get an in-depth refresher course, but
it also involves about a full day's worth of dedication to get through all the episodes. Here's another way: All five
seasons explained in eight minutes fifteen seconds. Maybe not enough to immerse yourself in every little detail, but
you'll at least be conversant as J.J. Abrams and company head for what should be the biggest finish of the 2009-2010
TV season.

"The screen goes to white instead of black... cool." It's funny how many people on the Lost nerd sites (myself included) commented on how the screen went to white instead of black and the general consensus, besides trying to guess the hidden significance, was... cool.
to quote: very cool.
wow
I admit, while I really enjoyed the first 3 seasons (when LOST was easily the best show on TV), season 4 got so convoluted that I contemplated sticking my head in a microwave to make the pain stop. But I roughed it out and made it through season 4. It was after the 3rd episode in season five that I deemed my brain, now the consistency of Grandma's tapioka pudding, too inadeqaute to comprehend the goings on of LOST.
But this helped. A lot.
Do you guys realize this is the modern day X-files. They are gonna string you along for 7-8 years, maybe release a stupid movie and in the mean time, tell you NOTHING. The writers don't even know where this is going. They answer one question by giving you 3 more. Its a soap-opera for the geek crowd.
No, they will find a way to tie it together. It will make absolutely no sense, but they will do it.
Seeing as how they've had a clear end date for about three years, outside of the pop culture mind-fuck I don't see the comparison to the X-files. They've know they were writing to an ending of May 2010 for so long so you have to at least hope it makes sense.
As for a movie, JJ Abrams has repeatedly said that there's no need for a Lost movie given the way they plan to end the show.
The difference between this and X-Files is I have absolutely no confidence that anyone lives. I mean, there will be survivors, but not all of them, and we never really see it coming. Since Bad Robot doesn't want a movie, they'll scorch the Earth, I think. Granted, with the flexible nature of the time structure in this show, anything would still be possible for a movie, but the show won't be open-ended enough to have it be worthwhile.
