Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 8:04PM Trailer for 'The Way Back'
I honestly can't believe we haven't heard more about this movie earlier. Starring Colin Farrell, Ed Harris, and Jim Sturgess, The Way Back looks phenomenal. It's directed by Peter Weir, based on the novel "The Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom" by Slavomir Rawicz.

Here's a synopsis of the film:
"After escaping a Siberian labor camp in 1940, seven courageous multi-national prisoners discover the true meaning of friendship as their epic journey takes them across thousands of miles of hostile terrain en-route to India and their freedom."
I'll let the trailer speak for itself, but with that cast and visuals, this movie should really be hyped more than it is. It's also been too long since we've had a good epic movie. The Way Back is set for a limited release on December 3rd, with a wide release on January 21th. Those are likely subject to change.

could be good hopefully not cliche riddled cast looks great & Peter Weir is a very underappreciated director, my only thing is its set for wide release in January 2011 which means it might suck or if they were hoping for Oscar raves, which explains the limited release, then again if the movie is 2 & 1/2 hours of walking a combination of "Return of the King" and "Alive" we will find out.
Goddammit Weir, just give us Master and Commander 2 already.
ha, no kidding on master and commander 2. but that looks wonderful. can't wait to see it.
