Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 8:05PM Robert Rodriguez Replaced by Adam Berg for 'Deadpool'
If you had a choice of dropping the lead actor or the director for a Marvel superhero film, who would you drop? Well at least we know what 20th Century Fox would do as the LA Times reports that Robert Rodriguez is getting replaced with a relatively unknown director in Adam Berg.

Apparently, there are scheduling conflicts between Rodriguez and their star actor, Ryan Reynolds. Originally, it was rumored that the studio would replace Reynolds.
So what happened? Personally, I'm not buying the excuse and I'm guessing it's more due to a lack of chemistry. Studios have always found a way to make the schedules work when put to the test. Also, if you take a look at what Rodriquez is working on, he's only directing one film Spy Kids 4, which has a release date of summer 2011 while Deadpool is scheduled to release sometime in 2012. Given that Ryan Reynolds is the one that has Green Latern and The Croods in post-production, The Change-Up which is currently filming, and has RIPD, Most Wanted, and Safe House all in pre-production, you would think that Reynolds is busier of the two. If scheduling was the issue, you would drop Reynolds.
So who is Adam Berg? He's a swedish commercial director who has never done a feature-length film. However, he did make a kick ass commercial (selling what? I have no clue). Is he the next Neill Blomkamp? Check out the commercial he did below and judge for yourself.

It has to be a numbers game. Reynolds is set to become a huge box office draw, and Rodriguez... what's he done lately that's made money?
And yeah, that commercial just messed with my head.
That advert looks a lot like the trail for something... If you remember the CSI trailer where some bad nuts came and stole a body?
