Set to be released on May 6th of 2011, Kenneth Branagh's Thor follows the tale of the mythical warrior as he is cast out of the realm of Asgard to live with the humans of Earth. This is another installment Marvel's ongoing attempt to bring all of it's superheroes to the big screen.

Think it's a little strange that Branagh is directing a Marvel movie? Well, so did Natalie Portman, one of the stars of the film, who so eloquently said, "I just thought it sounded like a weird idea because Kenneth Branagh's directing it. So, I was just like: 'Kenneth Branagh doing Thor is super weird, I've gotta do it."
Branagh will do what Branagh does best, however, as he reportedly has the citizens of Asgard speaking the queen's English. This will be a stark contrast to the the Earthly dwellers Thor must encounter who are flatly American. As for the action, who knows. We'll just have to wait and see how this interesting combination of godly superpower and Shakespearian expertise comes together, if it comes together at all.
Here are some brand new images for the film, starring Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, and Natalie Portman.
