Ever since Zombieland became a hit, screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been in high demand. They're already working on a Zombieland sequel, a G.I. Joe sequel, and the script for Deadpool. Now they're going to take on a different role, having just signed on to direct Doc and Howie, according to THR.

The movie is described as being Harold and Kumar-esque. The title characters accidentally kill an old woman by neglecting to help her carry her groceries up some stairs—yeah, that's what it says—and end up meeting her hot granddaughters. Presumably, hilarity ensues.
The screenplay is by TV veteran Steve Leff, and will be his first feature film credit. The screenplay, formerly called Doc and Howie Whack a Granny, gained some notoriety for being high on last year's Black List, which attempts to quantify the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood.
The last movie I recall having the same pedigree (finally getting made after spending lots of time repeatedly appearing on the Black List) was Kevin Smith's Cop Out. Hopefully this one ends up better than that, although I can't say I'm very optimistic about it, given the admittedly sparse plot description I've read so far. Reese and Wernick did good work with Zombieland, though, so hopefully their sense of humor can translate into a project that's not their own writing.

1 can only hope, can't wait to see what happens with "ZOMBIEL2ND" It would be so much easier if all sequels coming out with the Alpha Numeric route I mean if the wanted to do "TR2N: Legacy" thats allright and I was happy with TR2N, thought it was inspiring then there is SE7EN that started the hole thing of course it could work on some not the others.
