Monday, November 22, 2010 at 8:03PM Unfortunate 'Mean Girls 2' Poster and Trailer

I'm not gonna lie to you, I liked Mean Girls. A lot. Tina Fey's script was smart and witty, the cast was great, and being a sophomore in high school during its 2004 release it seemed like everyone I knew felt some kind of connection to it. And, after watching it on TBS a few nights ago, it's still just as funny.
That being said, it was only a matter of time before the lovely execs at Paramount decided to give the world a sequel. But as well liked as the original was, it definitely deserved better than this.
Oh, Tim Meadows, why? In case you didn't notice, the SNL alum is the only cast member returning from the original. And on top of that, this bad ABC Family wannabe is headed straight to DVD. Somewhere the original Plastics are rolling over in their pink designer tops.
And last but not least, the Mean Girls 2 synopsis and poster. Enjoy.
The story revolves around a new high school student, Jo, who agrees to befriend an outcast, Abby, at the urging of Abby’s wealthy father in exchange for paying all of Jo’s costs for the college of her dreams. Jo and Abby team up to take on the school’s “mean girls,” the Plastics. The story becomes a high stakes battle of loyalty that ultimately comes to a head when one of our heroines finds out that her friendship has been bought and paid for.

...The original cast of girls were way hotter
why? dear God, why?
Sequel or reboot? I'm confused.
It's a sequel that'll probably rehash the original story with far less capable actors, just like the American Pie, Wild Things & Bring it On DVD sequels. So yeah, it'll be stupid.
Obviously they're gunning for the tweenage audience with this one. The first film had capable comedic actors in supporting roles, and the "students" were obviously much older (allowing for more risque humor). This one'll probably play to Miley Cyrus fans. Whatever, not for me.
Funny you should mention ABC Family... 10 Things I Hate About You (tv)'s Meaghan Jette Martin is in this.
For a direct to DVD, this seems like a decent enough follow-up. Way better than say... Legally Blondes.
This is a sin.
It looks as though Disney took over Mean Girls.
It looks like this will be a REALLY bad movie.
It looks like none of these actors will get another job for a while.
It looks like I will NOT be buying (or watching) this movie. Ever.
The Plastics are NO MATCH to REgina alone... and when combined with Karen and Gretchen, those Plastics look MORE of WANNABEES than QUEEN BEES... and Jo, No good either... Plus, it's way better to see Hot Biatch being MEAN rather than seeing these PLASTICS that doesnt appeal much.. to be on top. well, they're NOT gonna happen>Im Being REGina George here....
