If you follow politics, the name Valerie Plame might ring some bells. She was the CIA agent whose name was released to the press back during the Bush administration. Knowing that particular story isn't a requirement for seeing this movie, as it does a good job of informing its audience of what it needs to know to follow the story.
The backdrop of Fair Game falls around the events of 9/11, and the actions leading up to and following the war in Iraq. Valerie Plame Wilson (Naomi Watts) is an undercover CIA operative, who manages both field work and teams of operatives. She's part of a team investing whether or not Iraq is attempting to enrich uranium to create weapons of mass destruction. In her task, her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson (Sean Penn), is enlisted to reach out to his contacts in Niger, to confirm or deny Iraq's purchase of uranium from that country.
The film works best when Penn and Watts are on the screen together. Even before Valerie's name is leaked to the press, you can see the strain her career has on their relationship and family. And as the film starts to peak, you really see these two actors excel at their craft. As a matter of fact, this is also the film's real weakness. These two just don't have enough screen time together.

Politics play a huge role in Valerie and Joseph's story, almost to a point where it overtakes the film. The creators assume that the audience has no knowledge of Valerie Plame, which is by no means a fault. But they lose themselves in the events surrounding Valerie Plame that they almost lose her in them. They dwell on it so much that it begins to feel like they were using her story to speak out against the politicians instead of telling Valerie's story. But at the same time it's these cutthroat politics that wreaked havoc on Valerie Plame's name and family, so you can't have one without the other. But there were times I was wishing to see more of Naomi and Sean together on the screen.
Even though the plot isn't simple, it's by no means overly complex. Director Doug Liman tells this story in a way that makes things easy to follow, but doesn't hold the viewer's hand. The toughest thing for the viewer will be to put aside any political stance they may have and understand that, even with the heavy hand politics plays in this story, that it was these political events that led to Valerie Plame Wilson's hardships. This is her story, even if at times it doesn't seem that way.

If you haven’t noticed, there’s a nation-wide underground craze for backyard and urban chickens, to which I too have fallen prey. Yet the farmer in me has tim viec nhanh

Friends frequently ask me whether or not like pages for facebook raising my hens is “cost-effective”. Everything I’ve read on the subject in blogs and books says NO. Instead, enthusiasts emphasize personal satisfaction and pet-potential. These are no doubt the true goals of backyard chicken-raising. rss feed Yet I am weary of deflecting this common question, and I am happy to further study my birds. Not to mention that my personal flock serves as a wonderful test case. I raise two hens (the minimum flock size) in New York City (the most costly and crowded environment). If I can do this cost-effectively, anyone can!
