Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 10:12AM Trailer - Halle Berry as 'Frankie and Alice'
I'm not sure if this is Halle Berry's version of the infamous "rule" from Tropic Thunder, but it seems pretty clear that her take on a woman suffering from multiple personality disorder is positioning her as a front-runner for a Best Actress nomination. In Frankie and Alice, Berry plays both of the title characters.

The rub here is that Frankie's alternate personality—if you guessed that's Alice, you're right—is a racist. Sounds sort of interesting to me, but with a strong possibility of trying way too hard to touch on multiple sensitive subjects at once. The good news is that when she gets a role like this that she can sink her teeth into, Halle Berry is more than capable of turning in a great performance, so I'm holding out hope that this one will be good.
The trailer also gives us a look at Stellan Skarsgard's character, the doctor who tries to help Frankie deal with her issues, as well as a good taste of the interaction between the two. We also get the briefest of glimpses of Phylicia Rashad as Frankie's mother.
Frankie and Alice has no official release date as of yet, but considering that we got our first look at it nearly 2 years ago, and are just seeing a full-length trailer now, you can be sure that it'll find at least a limited release before the end of the year in order to qualify Berry for an Oscar nomination.
