True story: when I was in college, I considered myself an aficionado of which actresses had appeared naked, and where. I even thought I'd maybe put together a website to catalogue what I saw as invaluable knowledge. Then I found out about Mr Skin, and my dreams of riches through nudity knowledge evaporated. (Years later, I felt a particular kinship with the guys in Knocked Up, who have the same experience.) But the good news is that Mr Skin does the job better than anybody else could've anyway.

Among the tons of end-of-year lists, Mr Skin's has become one of my favorites. Not just because it has to do with nudity, but because it's actually something different (because of, you know, the nudity). It's a nice change of pace from the seemingly endless stream of critics' circles top-10 lists (not that those aren't cool too, mind you). Check out Mr Skin's list for 2010 below.
Once again, he's combined both film and TV, which I'm fine with. The shows that HBO and Showtime put out these days have a lot more in common with feature films than they do with weeknight sitcoms. Here's the list for 2010:
- Jessica Alba in The Killer Inside Me
- Violante Placido in The American
- Kirsten Dunst in All Good Things
- Mary-Louise Parker in Weeds (TV)
- Rebecca Creskoff in Hung (TV)
- Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried in Chloe
- Paz de la Huerta in Boardwalk Empire (TV)
- Paz de la Huerta in Boardwalk Empire (TV)
- Jessica Pare in Hot Tub Time Machine
- Kelly Brook, Riley Steele, and Jessica Szohr in Pirahna 3D
The order here seems backwards, but I've listed them as he did. I think it's more of a countdown, where the 10th one is the best. I mean, I know that Alba's butt is the first time we've ever seen any of her private bits without clothing, but it's not exactly a great nude scene, is it?
I'm also surprised that Blue Valentine didn't make the list. Though I haven't seen it yet, from all of the controversy around it with the NC-17 rating and all, I have to assume there's some substantial nudity in it. Maybe not, though.
The biggest surprise on this list to me is Kirsten Dunst, mostly because I hadn't heard about her scene in All Good Things, and you'd think that if an actress of her caliber was doing a nude scene for the first time, more would be made of it. Or maybe I'm just out of the loop these days. It's also strange to see George Clooney in one of the clips (from The American), but I can definitely see why it was included.
And no, that's not a mistake: Paz de la Huerta spends so much time appearing nude on Boardwalk Empire that she made the list twice.
You can see the full list at Mr Skin. If you're willing to sign up for a trial membership (or if you're already a subscriber) you can watch all of the scenes in question, too. Now that's a nice Christmas gift.

I agree that the so-called Alba nude scene is pretty weak, and definitely not deserving of the top spot.
Alba obviously won the top spot because...she's Alba & she's never been remotely nude before.
The Pirahna 3D scene should probably be up higher because it's so gratuitous and over-the-top. That scene from Chloe is pretty top notch though.
Yeah, I always post on this thread on a yearly basis, so no surprise that I'm analyzing this post again.
Question: Isn't the Alba nude scene actually a cgi effect and not her actually being nude? I thought I read that somewhere, that she wouldn't go nude so she wore underwear and they just had animators go in and remove it in editing.
I heard the same thing Nickro...and saw the article:
http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/10/20/jessica-albas-cgi-machete-nude-scene/
This seems pretty well documented and honestly, I'm surprised that Mr. Skin either didn't know about it...or did know about it and included it anyway.
IMO, this doesn't count as a nude scene. If you don't have the balls (pun intended) to actually be naked in the scene...it's doesn't count.
Agreed Doppelganger. Let the record show that this scene shall not be included in the record. Having said that...fap fap fap.
nickro and Doppelganger: the digitally-removed white underwear were from Machete. The "nude" scene Mr Skin is crediting her for is from The Killer Inside Me.
Ahh...I stand corrected. Well...that I'll have to see before I pass judgement :D
I feel your pain Mike. Mr Skin is too good at what he does. I just accepted that he'll be the Mister of female celebrity skin and relegated myself to the level of ardent fan. I made a website to support his holy work. You can check it out at Mr Skin Nudes Fansite
I even tried my hand at some top ten lists.
I can't find a way to contact you. Could you email me to talk. Thx.
