Post Office Announces Plans for Pixar Stamps

If you need another reason to get excited about the impending New Year, the United States Postal Service just announced plans to release a line of Pixar stamps starting August 19th, 2011.

So next year as you begrudgingly stuff a month's worth of bills into your mailbox, you can at least get a small bit of joy as you see Buzz Lightyear or Lightning McQueen smiling back at you from the corner of the envelope.

If you are curious about which Pixar character made the cut and which ones are getting left out from this line, we have the complete list after the jump ...

The line, entitled "Send a Hello," will feature five stamps. The five stamps are Carl Fredricksen and Dug from Up, Buzz Lightyear and the green aliens from Toy Story, WALL-E from WALL-E, Remy and Linguini from Ratatouille and Lightning McQueen and Mater from Cars.

I'm a bit surprised that Woody didn't make the cut and I'm really bummed that Monsters, Inc. was left out completely, but overall I think it's a cool idea. I don't know if anyone out there actually still collects stamps, but this seems like a line worth owning.
