Trailer - First Look at Mel Gibson in 'The Beaver'

If you've been following the site, you already know about The Beaver, the Jodie Foster directed film in which she stars alongside Mel Gibson. (You can find a complete synopsis of the film here.) The Beaver has been in the can for a while now, but its release has been delayed because of Gibson's personal problems.

They are finally moving ahead with the release of the film and after the jump we have the official trailer, which gives us our first glimpse of Gibson and his beaver puppet. We also get to hear the puppet's voice, which sounds oddly like Michael Caine.

I have to admit, this looks really intriguing. I'm not overly thrilled with Gibson the person these days, but he is a great actor and this role could help rehumanize him in the public's eyes. I think The Beaver definitely has potential to be a quirky and moving little film.
