Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 7:50PM Yet Another Taylor Lautner Action Movie on the Way
Today is Taylor Lautner's 18th birthday and he celebrated by being without question the most in-demand star under the age of 25. On the heels of Twilight: New Moon, Lautner has been cast in Paramount's Max Steel and Universal's Stretch Armstrong, and now he looks close to sealing a deal on a heavy drama called Abduction.

While everything else he's doing has major franchise possibilities (although selling Stretch Armstrong may prove more difficult than Universal thinks), Abduction may or may not go down that road. Deadline Hollywood says he would play a teenager "who has long felt disconnected from his parents, and figures out why. That unleashes a chain of violent events and enters Bourne territory," and the name "Bourne" certainly makes you think this could wind up in the sequel pile, too, but it's a little early to tell.
Because his name is attached, when the script for Abduction was sent out by the brand new agency, Verve, on Thursday night, it only took until mid-morning for a couple of studios to line up bids on the project. Yep, it's a good month to be in the Taylor Lautner business, which is probably bad news more acting schools on the coasts. However, if you're a male cheerleader, Hollywood might want to talk to you.
Lautner can be seen this weekend in Valentine's Day - but then, who can't? - and then he doesn't have anything on the radar until this summer's Twilight: Eclipse.

I don't get this kids appeal. He's not a good actor, and there are better looking young male actors out there who look good with their shirts off.
I echo Emo....
I dunno what the deal with him is. I mean maybe the studio heads admire how he fought to keep his role in Twilight & put on alotta muscle, being only 16-17 yrs old
I mean thats the only thing I admire about the kid, but why do so many people love him??
Nice line about the acting schools Colin, because its kinda true & sad too
I like Taylor Lautner.
Also, they should stop messing around and just remake The Marine but with both Taylors (Lautner and Swift) in the respective hero/damsel in distress roles. That honestly would be the most entertaining movie of all time. Better than The Happening, The Wicker Man & The Room combined.
