Friday, February 19, 2010 at 4:08AM NBC Unveils Bad Promo for Bad 'Tonight Show'
NBC rolled out its first pariahs...I mean promos...for Jay Leno's new old Tonight Show. Man, what a mess over there at the Peacock. Leno retires, passes the torch to Conan, but Leno goes to 10pm, fails, causes Conan's numbers to dip because he has the worst lead-in in prime time TV, and now Jay is back at 11:35.

The new promo debuted during the Olympics and it's awfully familiar. It features Jay in one of his classic cars (a Shelby Cobra, if I'm not mistaken, though I very often am) driving down a scenic highway in California that's clearly marked 10. I don't think that's the 10, but whatever.
Curiously, the decal on Leno's convertible also reads 10 - get the connection? - until he goes so fast that the decal rips right off the side of his car, revealing...
Imaginative, right? Yeah, not really. Thank goodness NBC is bringing that kind of creativity back to late night. Oh wait, I see...this is exactly the same promo the network used to pimp The Jay Leno Show a year ago:
Hmm...it's not any funnier that way. You'll notice that NBC just changed the decals. Two things: 1) If The Jay Leno Show was the lowest rated network show at 10pm this season, why use that same promo again? Clearly, it didn't work the first time. 2) That's it? Really? All NBC has to welcome back the guy who will once again save the network (presumably) is day-old bread? Another round of sarcastic "good going" wishes for NBC, everybody.

Dear God, get over it already!
This is just NBC's way of reminding everyone to be ready to tune to another channel after the Vancouver Olympics end.
More than likely Jay Leno is "unavailable" to promote this train wreck. I know I would be.
Yeah, that is a Shelby Cobra, doesn't seem like the street legal version either. And he is on Highway one. I am with all of you, screw NBC, Conan was great, hope he gets a show soon.
Oh CGI what wont you allow us to reuse at no additional cost. (the decals of course, not the rest)
