Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 4:54PM Jolie, Franco in Line for 'The Golden Suicides'?
Could it be that Angelina Jolie backed out of Wanted 2 to star in a movie co-written by Gus Van Sant and Bret Easton
Ellis? When word first came that Jolie was leaving the Wanted sequel - effectively
killing it - the word was that she was lining up a movie called Gravity, a sci-fi piece by Alfonso Cuaron.

But maybe not. Premiere France (via The Playlist) says that she actually passed
on a role in Gravity for the opportunity to star in The Golden Suicides with James Franco. We told you about that project before; it's a study
of the final days of artists Theresa Duncan and Jeremy Blake, both of whom committed suicide under very unusual circumstances a
couple years ago.
Leading to the rumor was a recent Tweet by Ellis: "Keep looking at the script...Angelina and Franco for Theresa and Jeremy?...It
doesn't matter...I wrote it for them anyway...I just spaced..."
Much like The Informers, based on an Ellis book, I'm not sure what all of that means. It probably just indicates, as The
Playlist suggests, that Ellis wrote the roles with the actors in mind, just as a tool to keep the screenplay and its characters
on a certain level.
There's no reason she couldn't do both Golden Suicides and Gravity, other than scheduling concerns. But as Wanted
2 proves, she's one of the few stars who can start and stop anything she wants to. I'd actually like to see her in
Gravity instead, but if she could swing both, why not?

Oh my God Angie and James Franco wonderful i loved .
Amazing
Ugh, yuck! I'm afraid they won't have the proper chemistry and energy for these roles. She's so sexualized and at the same time flat. I don't see how Franco and Jolie could possibly work in this movie. I hope Van Sant spoke out against this. Whoever he chooses, I know they'll be great because he is so good at casting and directing actors. I hope he chooses some relative unknowns because he works so well with lesser known actors. I'm really excited about this movie but the possibility of this pair is a major buzzkill.
