Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 3:51AM Paul Greengrass Completely Done With Jason Bourne
It was a few months ago when that fourth Jason Bourne reversed field with the sudden departure of director Paul Greengrass. Who knows if there really was friction between Greengrass and Universal - he has maintained since December that there wasn't - but he sure is gone.

And now Greengrass tells CHUD that he's gone for good. "I have moved on," Greengrass says. "I finished [Green Zone] in July, had the summer off, and I came back and thought I could find a way to get engaged and make [a fourth Bourne film], [but] I thought in my head there were so many other things and films I wanted to make. I didn't have the fire in my belly."
Added Greengrass, who made the past two Bournes plus United 93, all for Universal, "Not that I don't like Jason Bourne, not that I'm not extremely grateful to the franchise, not that I'm extremely close to the studio - there were no arguments. I didn't feel like I had anything else to contribute."
"It just happens with franchises; you get to a point where you feel like you've done it," concluded the director.
And that's that. Greengrass says he and Matt Damon will continue to work together, although Damon has said in the past that without Greengrass, he won't go near another Bourne project. So will they go with a prequel or does Universal sit this one out, satisfied with one of the best trilogies ever made?
