Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 11:40AM Pattinson Doesn't Want 3-D 'Breaking Dawn'
They don't have any say in it, of course, but over the past couple of weeks, Kristen Stewart and more recently Robert Pattinson have come to specifically say The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn shouldn't be shot in 3-D. Of course, the way it's trending, by the time the last Twilight chapter gets here, Breaking Dawn might be the only movie not in 3-D.

Stewart said a couple weeks ago that she just didn't think the story needed it, that Breaking Dawn should be a "normal" movie. Pattinson just wants to skip the headaches.
"The 3-D thing confuses me," he tells MTV. "I haven't seen Avatar or any of these 3-D movies yet and the idea of it - I remember 3-D movies from when I was a kid, and I can just picture it giving me a headache."
Pattinson also says he doesn't know if Breaking Dawn - 3-D or not - will be one movie or two, another thing that's been discussed. He doesn't have a preference, either. That seems extremely likely, just to make sure everybody gets paid a ridiculous amount of money.
As of this moment, I think Breaking Dawn probably will ai8be in 3-D. Eclipse is already planning an IMAX engagement, and 3-D is the next logical step. It will be the next logical step for a lot of out-of-the-oven blockbusters, and that obviously applies here. It's just an extra layer of revenue from the increased ticket prices, and the Twihards have already proven that money's no object to them.

There are going to be movies that are in 3D. 2D movies will be counter-programming for the 3D movies. And those who resist either of these trends will be making television - shows or movies. And then when somebody makes a 3D television show or movie that does really big ratings, the trend will carry on there.
