First Look: Jeff Bridges in 'TRON Legacy'

This could be the Year of Jeff Bridges. He probably didn't plan it that way, he probably doesn't want it that way, but between what seems more and more like a runaway win for Best Actor in about a month and a possible huge holiday movie with TRON Legacy, it's a good time to be in the Jeff Bridges business. And Disney is capitalizing on the goodwill for Bridges by releasing the first official image of the actor in TRON. Lookee:
Click to Enlarge What's the deal on his back there? Looks like he could have saved everyone an awful lot of heartache if he'd had that same thing going in Iron Man. We know that Disney is very excited about this one, to the point that they moved it up into the 2010 schedule from 2011, probably because people would have rioted if they were forced to wait another 12 months. The response to the 2008 Comic Con trailer was undeniable, it made a big impression again last year, and the trailers and posters have, I think, really attracted a new audience, which is what it needed because the original TRON wasn't exactly a license to print money. But I have a feeling this one will do very well. Related to the overall point about Bridges having a good year but not so much TRON, his remake of True Grit with the Coens, Matt Damon, and Josh Brolin also comes out in December. Yep, suddenly The Dude is everywhere.
