Rumor Patrol: No 'Spider-Man' for Logan Lerman

Correction: Logan Lerman isn't playing Peter Parker in the next Spider-Man movie. When we reported on the young Percy Jackson star's comments earlier this week, we said it was more likely that Lerman has approached Sony than the other way around. Sony, for its part, has denied talking to Lerman, at least in any official capacity. "No offers have been made, nor have any business discussions been made with Lerman," a Sony spokesperson said, and that's about what we figured. I have no idea whether or not he's right for the job. He's right-ish, at any rate: He's young, he acts for a living, they want a teenage Peter Parker. Beyond that, it's too early to know what Sony and director Marc Webb are thinking. And now, Lerman has sort of changed his tune. "To be honest, it's a role that any young actor is dying to play and I'm just hoping to be considered," Lerman told MTV. "I'm just a huge fan." "That's all I can say. Spider-Man is just an awesome comic book series," Lerman gushed. "There's millions of actors out there who want to play the role. I'm just one of them." So...false alarm.
