'Jaws' Rebooted? We're Gonna Need a Bigger Reason

I don't enjoy this one at all: Is Universal really planning a remake of Jaws? Oh, eff off. Here's the story, if you can stand it: Cinema Blend cites a source at the studio as saying da U wants to pursue a 3-D Jaws, apparently blithely unaware that they've already made one of those and it is among the worst studio pictures ever produced, and yet it's still better than Jaws: The Revenge. The idea is that Tracy Morgan would play the Richard Dreyfuss role in the remake, and that's not exactly worth the wait, either, do you think? We'll see if there's anything to it; right now, this is just "inside sources" and there's been no confirmation from Universal. Who could blame them for not opening up, though. This is pretty shameful. Sure, I'm the guy who says that remakes are almost always fair game, and this one is the kind of movie that's ripe for it, thanks to the possible impact effects could have on the story. But how hard is it to come up with a new shark story, if that's really your jones? Or come up with a Spielberg-approved sequel for a change? Maybe that's too much to ask from the same studio that can never even ensure the damn Jaws Universal Studios tour attraction works when I'm there. That stupid shark is always broken. And never more so than now.

Nooooo!!!! Some things are better left untouched. What made the original so damn scary? The fact that we never saw the shark until 1/2 way through & even then we just saw one side of it because the puppet was broken. Suspense is what made JAWS so scary & Spielberg would've shown more of the shark if it worked better. So you know if it's in 3D the shark is going to be shown as much as possible....And like you said Colin, they've tried it in 3D. I know we all wanted to forget about JAWS 3D, but Da U should never forget that bag of farts. And TRACY EFFING MORGAN?! C'mon! I love 30 Rock and I think Tracy is pretty funny, but not in this. Can't they just make another shark movie & not attach the name "JAWS" to it? Oh man, this is the worst news of the week, by far.

They rebooted jaws, they changed the name to "Deep Blue Sea" but thats how I will feel about any shark movie, and then I just wish I was watching jaws instead.
