Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 10:25AM Conan O'Brien Making Stand-Up Tour Documentary
Oh, that crafty Conan O'Brien: Deadline says that the comedian and once and future late night talk show host will take cameras with him on his upcoming North American tour to make a documentary.

The brilliance of it is, even though Conan can't be on TV, his severance agreement with NBC apparently contained no language about making film appearances. So O'Brien will chronicle his 30-city tour, called The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour, which kicks off April 12th (full schedule below). Rodman Flender, who has a little bit of experience directing film and TV, is in talks to direct the documentary.
O'Brien is handling his time off about as well as you could expect. The stand-up tour is a great idea, making the movie adds a little more excitement, and in case the new show doesn't materialize this fall - and I don't think it will for a combination of reasons - then the movie can be released as something of a stop-gap before O'Brien's back on late night. Somewhere.

I'm going to be @ the stop in Tulsa. I CAN'T WAIT!
Yes! Im going to be at the DC show!
I'm gonna try to see him when he hits LA (Universal City) but I'm not holding my breath.
Even still, this documentary is the bee's knees, especially if I don't get to see him live.
@ramsay Im going to the DC show too!! Im super excited, I've missed Conan terribly :[
