Weak Teaser Trailer for DreamWorks' 'Megamind'

Just a couple days ago, I wrote something about movies looking better when they're first conceived then when we finally see the finished product. There's still time to go, of course, but I liked Megamind when it was called Oobermind and starred Robert Downey, Jr. instead of Will Ferrell. Call me crazy. Here's our first teaser trailer for the film, which comes out in November. Certainly, we'll see more stuff in the months ahead, but this is entirely uninspiring. The animation isn't anything special, it's not funny, and I'm not sure it's conveyed any appeal that the movie might have. Thankfully, it's short.

Although I love me some Will Ferrell from time to time, having him in the main role instead of Robert Downey Jr. is a straight up downgrade.

The trailer really didn't show anything, just a bunch of big names and a not very funny involving "Loving You". My guess why they went with that song- because they can't play the entire lyrics to "Highway to Hell", since it's a kid's film.

Dreamworks went from being a solid contender to Pixar's throne w/ Kung Fu Panda to...this. Here's hoping that How to Train Your Dragon is good, because it seriously looks like the only film in their schedule that could turn out ok.
