Friday, March 19, 2010 at 4:13PM Brace Yourself for a Fifth 'Final Destination' Flick
It wasn't the final Final Destination, after all. Even with a title that can't be misconstrued within the framework of that franchise, the only FD flick to say it was "the" Final Destination wasn't. We're getting at least one more.

Warner Bros. is reportedly developing the fifth movie in the series, which I guess will have to be called The Finalest Destination. The reason is simple: $. The fourth movie was by far the most successful, taking in nearly $200 million worldwide, almost five times what it cost (before marketing expenses).
There's another point in all this: The Final Destination was a 3-D movie, which like My Bloody Valentine earlier last year and before Avatar really drove the message home, benefited from the higher ticket prices. I don't have a breakdown of how many tickets sold were 3-D, but it certainly didn't hurt. And Warner Bros. wants more and more 3-D, as evidenced by Clash of the Titans and Legend of the Guardians making that jump this year. Odds are, this one will be in 3-D, as well.
Studio executive Alan Horn said at ShoWest that the fifth installment was on the way, though no concrete details about the film have been unveiled.
