Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 1:06AM 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' Movie Is On
A couple of days ago, we shared the trailer for the new book Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. It's exactly what you'd expect. Now that book is being turned into a movie with some heavy hitters behind the scenes. Deadline reports that Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov are producing the adaptation, but there's no studio attached yet. That'll change.

If the story sounds a bit out of whack, it's part of the new trend of what I'm starting to call literary mash-ups. The author of this book, Seth Grahame-Smith, also wrote Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and Natalie Portman is producing and will star in that film. David O. Russell will direct that project.
There's no director mentioned yet for Vampire Hunter, but how long do you think that job stays open? And how about casting Abe Lincoln as a guy who throws axes at vampires? A line around the corner, I'll bet.
Here's hoping they push this into production pretty soon, because its groovitude can barely be contained.

YES!!!
I am not a big fan of the many mashups out there, but I absolutely love this book, and if there is a film coming out, I will certainly be right in line for tickets. Whoohoo!
very awsome
