The first TCM Classic Film Festival is just a few weeks away. It's a great idea, one that would be even better if it were more affordable. More on that in a moment. First, by all means check out the gorgeous new event posters inspired by some of those moments so classic that we don't even need to see faces to immediately recognize them.

Aren't those cool?
The Classic Pass for the TCM fest is $500, and that gets you some pretty good access for the four-day movie buffet, including the closing night event on April 25th. For an extra Benjamin, you'll get the opening night gala on the 22nd, as well.
It's a big deal for movie buffs, but you're still paying $500 to see movies you might already own on DVD, and if you're a big enough fan of the classics to shell out half a grand for something like this, you've probably already seen those movies, anyway. I mean, if you've got it (and the airfare and lodging to Los Angeles if you're not a local), check it out. But that's a lot of scratch. Maybe it will get cheaper in future years.

It is pretty pricey, but you can get individual tickets for $20 at box offices 30 minutes before shows, space available. $20 to see Eli Wallach talk about The Good The Bad and The Ugly is a deal to me.
Just FYI if you or any of your readers are local.
