Friday, March 5, 2010 at 6:11PM Trailer - Zack Snyder's 'Legend of the Guardians'
I'm not so fond of the new name for the film formerly known as The Guardians of Ga'Hoole. The young adult book adaptation is now going by Legend of the Guardians. I guess it won't suffer from an identity crisis, though; how many animated movies about owls are headed to theaters anytime soon?

It's directed by Zack Snyder, coming off the love-it-or-hate-it Watchmen. There are over a dozen books in the series, so if it's a hit, we might see a few more of these over the next several years. However, the young adult category has proven more difficult to crack than Hollywood thought. Only Potter and Twilight are really smashes. Narnia is one-for-two commercially, and that's a good average in this category. Even the new Percy Jackson isn't really doing well enough to merit a sequel.
Here's the new trailer. I'm not sure it makes Legend of the Guardians look like a great film, but the CGI is very good:

Guardians opens on September 24th. Warner Bros. has already announced it will be in 3-D.

It's good to see that Bob and Terry have found work post 'Where the Wild Things Are'...
The CGI in the film does look extremely, ridiculously good. This isn't for me though. I actually don't know who the audience for this movie is. After seeing the trailer before Alice , the people sitting next to me (girls and guys around my age- early 20s/late teens) muttered to themselves "Wait, it's a movie about Owls? I can't believe that, it's so stupid."
Who knows? Maybe this'll take off (no pun intended). It looks better than I thought it would, but this movie's not for me.
This is an 70-680 where it is increasingly easier to tap the internet and find free 70-294 to quickly pass your CIW certification exam. Unfortunately for the 70-297
who select this option, the only thing that 70-298
will earn them, is a 70-299 and a worthless papered certification.
