Three New Character Posters for 'Prince of Persia'

Filmofilia has three brand new character posters for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, featuring Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, and Gemma Arterton. Click to magically enlarge... Prince of Persia opens on May 28th, and is this year's big Memorial Day weekend movie. But will it be a big Memorial Day weekend movie? Most likely, it will do very well that weekend, but if there's a tentpole in May that's vulnerable, it's probably this one. Iron Man and Shrek are safe, and Robin Hood looks like it could be a damn good movie, the kind that brings in more than traditional opening weekend crowds. It won't be huge, but it might play well for a while. Persia, on the other hand, is a sanitized video game movie that, from the look of the trailers, ought to make a character poster for its visual effects, as well. CGI can be a great complement to a story, but it appears that they overwhelm everything else in the video we've seen. And that's a shame, because it's got life as a game adaptation. But we haven't seen it yet, so this is just speculation. Jerry Bruckheimer certainly knows more about mining gold than I do, but I think this resembles King Arthur more than Pirates.

I played the video game so the effects sort of make sense. The game has a very mysterious eerie feel. And there's always like glowing sand everywhere in the game. So i can understand that. But it looks like they are overusing the effects for sure. I want to see the movie. But i want it to fail.. I'm still pissed about jake gyllenhal being cast as the prince. The only actual indian person they are using is the bad guy, WHAT a surprise.

GMoney theres a new video game? i definitely gotta look into that. Hope its good
