Friday, April 16, 2010 at 9:00PM Kiefer Sutherland Talks Up '24' Movie(s)
Keifer Sutherland is already talking about the 24 movie franchise. We thought it would be one movie with possible sequels to be named later, but that's not how Sutherland - star and co-producer of the now-cancelled series - sees it.

He also tells Total Film that the longer format really aids his show more than others. No longer do you have to follow the real-time scenario, at least not as closely. So each movie wouldn't be two hours in a day, but would reflect a day in total. That's the plan. "The film will be a two-hour representation of a 24-hour day, so all of a sudden, the restrictions of the real-time aspect are lifted. Which is huge," Sutherland said.

"To put it in context, in the series, every crisis had to come to us, because we couldn't move. Who wants to see Jack Bauer sit on a plane for four hours? But in the format of the film, it will be very feasible to go from Eastern Europe to London in the space of 24 hours, so all of a sudden there is so much more latitude. The skies have opened up!"That sounds like a winning formula to me, especially if they can find a way to trim some expenses. 24 was a notoriously expensive production, one of the reasons Fox wasn't interested in bringing it back for a ninth season. In other news, isn't it time Sutherland grew up? He had that DUI a couple years ago and took his licks, serving some jail time for it when many celebrities had found a way around it. But last night, he was either forcibly removed from a strip club in London "by bouncers who had put him in a headlock" or gently helped to his car by attendants at the club. Details are sketchy. He wasn't arrested, but he was photographed shirtless, which isn't really a sign of restraint. He's not in his 20s, and this is getting embarrassing.
