Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 7:45AM Trailer - George A. Romero's 'Survival of the Dead'
There's still zombie left in George A. Romero. Even though more than 40 years have passed since Night of the Living
Dead, which truly was a revolution, Romero still sees life in the undead, and his latest film, Survival of the Dead, will be released on May 28th.

Romero's place in the horror movie realm is more than secure. In addition to more or less making the zombie movie mainstream, his work
has been remade, and perhaps tellingly, both Dawn of the Dead and The Crazies were pretty good. And I suppose there's
something to be said for sticking with what you know; this is Romero's sixth ...of the Dead movie, each modifying slightly what's
been done before.
Here's a new trailer for Survival of the Dead, which transports the action to an island, where it's thought the zombies can't
possibly reach the uninfected. But where would the fun be in that?

I imported a copy of the UK DVD of this at the end of March and was left almost totally disappointed by it. It starts with the military guys that robbed the kids in the previous movie (Diary of the Dead) and puts them on an island where what's left of the town is split "Hatfields vs McCoys" style and they're trying to make the dead do something other than people. Cool beginning, decent end...snoozefest of a middle.
