Shia LaBeouf: Liar. Nearly a year removed from the second-biggest movie of 2009, Shia has no kind words about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. But it was a different story leading up to the release of the film. Gee, really? An actor wouldn't bash his movie as it's coming out? How shocking. But this takes on a different element.

Here's what Shia said less than a month before the film was released, trying as hard as he could to sell tickets: "This movie is [Michael Bay's] best film. He's getting better as he goes," said the actor in one of his best performances. "The most important thing a director can do is establish a style. Michael Bay has a definite style."
Added Shia, "There's a bit of John Ford in Bay, and then there's a bit of like, fucking Looney Tunes, you know?" That's high praise, especially given the bathroom stall rape he inflicts on Transformers in FHM (via Worst Previews).

"There are a lot of people that liked the second one, but I hated it. I just didn't enjoy it. I thought we missed the mark. I got confused, I couldn't see what the fuck was going on, you know, with certain robots... I couldn't decipher what was happening. There were storyline paths that I just wouldn't have gone down."And yet...it's Michael Bay's best film. See, I don't mind a guy knowing his movie is bad and doing the rounds, but don't trash it in the next breath. Ten years from now, if an interviewer asks you if the Transformers movies hold up, say, "Not the second one. We tried some things that, in hindsight, really didn't work." But when you're about to shoot the follow-up, don't say what is in essence, "this next movie we'll totally get it right." Or, you know, what Shia actually says about the third movie: "I know that directors Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg are dedicated to making the best movie we possibly can, and we're not going to miss next time." Not until a year after the next one, anyway.

Well, I liked Transformers 2, so he's not like me. And btw, the only thing he said was that the story and some of the robots were too confusing. He never said a bad word about Spielberg or Bay, or the action scenes or anything else in the movie. So don't blow this out of proportion.
Still happy I never saw it. I appreciate he has no real integrity and can admit all those hard working folks were screwed out of seeing a quality film and instead got some kind of pop culture pre-pubescent smash feast. So when do the refund checks go out?
"I hated it." That's what he said. Odd, however, that someone who liked Transformers 2 would encourage anyone to not blow something out of proportion, since the entire film is based on precisely that idea.
I didn't consider Transformers 2 a movie. It was more a shell of a movie, like they had all the "actors" and special effects in place, but completely forgot to inject the script and/or any sort of emotion. Micheal Bay is the Lil' Wayne of movies. Immensely popular and rish, but absolutely zero substance and the test of time will prove that after his movies (and Wayne's music) are long forgotten.
I appreciate the honest words from Shia. I disliked the film, too, although I did pay a ticket to go see it. And like him, I hope the next film will do justice to the first film, which did hit it's mark.
2 and 1/2 hrs of my life gone
I still haven't seen it and I still don't care.
At least he has the good sense to realize how awful it was. Now if we could just nuke Michael Bay...
