Friday, April 9, 2010 at 11:32AM Another Lame Trailer for 'Sex and the City 2'
I had almost forgotten Sex and the City 2 was coming out this summer, but primarily only because I didn't want it to trigger a lengthy depression. There might have been a reason for the first movie, but that vanished pretty quickly once it actually got started. A sequel, while all signs point to profit, is really pointless.

Like everything, this one has its die-hard fans, but there is nothing left for these women to do. Seven seasons on TV (three or four of which were actually pretty good), and then they changed Carrie Bradshaw's whole perspective in the movie to turn her story, that used to be different from every other woman in pop culture, into that exact same dream. The other characters had less to do in the movie because, well, they've been exhausted.
So for the sequel, it's just clothes and shoes. And other cities. And a waste of time, unless you thought Carrie should have wound up with the other guy. Here's the most recent trailer.

They keep trying to sell the United Arab Emirates as some kind of sexy destination. Maybe the United Arab Emirates are so rich because of all the oil they sell to the United States, and none of that money comes back into the United States. What Sex and the City 2 should be selling to single American women, are trips to American destinations. Abu Dhabi is the last place I would want to spend my money. It looks hot and awful...not to mention all those laws that keep women in a continued state of opression...as though the heat weren't opressive enough.
