Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 6:44PM Cha-Ching: 'Twilight' Supporting Actors Get Raises
Hardball has paid off for the supporting actors in the Twilight Saga. With New Moon setting opening day box office records and Eclipse opening in June, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz refused to sign contracts for the fourth (and probably fifth) film in the franchise, Breaking Dawn, unless they got a raise.
IESB reports that Summit has acquiesced and has ponied up more money for Greene, Lutz, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, and Jackson Rathbone. Greene and Rathbone aren't officially signed quite yet, but the deals have been agreed to in principle, apparently.
Is it the $4 million per Reed and Lutz requested? I doubt it; that's suddenly $20 million spread around a cast that has maybe 20 lines between them. I read earlier this week it was more in the $1.5 million range, and that's certainly more appropriate, even for the amount of work these actors do in the series.
It's probably more true for Ashley Greene than anyone; she's the only one going on late night talk shows or doing personalized Sobe ads in nothing but body paint. While Kristen Stewart shuns the spotlight and looks uncomfortable when she's in it, Greene has thrust herself into it, and that's a damn smart business move.
Because of the increased recognition, Greene could demand a higher rate from other films she could be making instead of Breaking Dawn. And high tide raises all ships, as they say, so here we are.

Can these movie just come out so we can get over this little fad. I'm tired of the whole damn Twilight series.
By the way, Ashely Greene is really hot!!!
