Megan Fox Dropped from 'Transformers 3'

While there is very little doubt the series can survive without her, Michael Bay has decided not to pick up Megan Fox' option for Transformers 3. The move comes very late in the game, especially since Fox won't just be replaced; her character is gone, too. Bay and writer Ehren Kruger are back working on a script, with an insider telling Nikki Finke, "giving Shia LaBeouf a new love interest makes more sense for the story." I don't like the way this went down. Not so much out of deference to Megan Fox or anything, but she made those ridiculous comments last year that Bay easily deflected, which were later followed by that letter from the crew blasting the actress. Why not take care of the problem then? Plus, let's not forget that Bay publicly announced Fox would be back for round three several months ago. So making the switch now, when presumably all the ducks were in a row, seems fishy. I don't think we're getting the full story; you don't just axe your female lead out of the blue, particularly when she gave you plenty of chances a year ago. Also worth noting: Hasn't Fox already been photographed on the set? So now, casting begins anew, and Transformers loses one of its best attributes: The Megan Fox Quote of the Day, which always ramp up right around the release date.

NO! I hated Transformers 2, but the only bright light in it was Megan Fox. That was a flat out stupid move by Bay and Co. That is some seriously bad press for them, good luck selling a movie that ended with the two characters loving each other, now the heroine is gone. Fuck Transformers, the second one was perhaps the worst sequel of the decade, and now its going to drop even lower. They will not get my $10
