Rumor Patrol: Megan Fox a Mermaid in 'Pirates 4'?

I doubt this will happen, but it's bound to be a slow news weekend and we were sure to tackle it eventually, so why not now? Showbiz Spy claims that Megan Fox, fresh off a tumultuous exit from Transformers 3 might be popping up next summer, anyway, and in what could be a bigger hit. A "source" says the actress is fielding offers now and has been contacted by producers of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. “She would play a mermaid who charms Captain Jack but she has a dark motive," the "source" claims. “Megan has always loved Johnny Depp and is desperate to work with him." Again, I don't believe such a role really exists, and if it did and they wanted a star for it, casting probably would have happened earlier than this, since the movie's not too far away from beginning production. Then again, Transformers is reshaping the female lead to suit Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and that was a fairly brisk change of direction. Given the fount of information, I'll consider this bullshit for the time being, but I think Fox would probably make a pretty tempting mermaid.
